 Whether you’re homeless and just trying to survive or a case-worker trying to help someone who’s hungry and unsheltered, this site is intended find every resource available to help you. At last count, we’ve profiled 44 different resources on this site; yet at the beginning of October there were 3311 people experiencing homelessness.

 Community Support Services provides benefit claim filing for military veterans, confidential domestic violence therapy and counseling for children and adults, substance use counseling for people in shelters or detention centers, and services for people experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

Food Referrals

 Two long-standing non-profits with a rich history of fighting hunger, Loaves & Fishes and Friendship Trays, joined forces with a new name, Nourish Up. Lifting up our community through food, we provide groceries to our neighbors in need in Mecklenburg County through the largest network of food pantries in North Carolina, grocery home delivery, and delivering healthy meals each weekday through our Meals on Wheels program.

  1. Call 704-284-9665. Trained specialists are available 24/7 and will facilitate a telephone assessment before directing you to the appropriate resources (shelter, housing assistance, etc.). 
  2. Next, go to one of three locations to complete a Coordinated Entry, our community’s entry process to available housing/shelter resources for individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
